First Stages Chicken Pox

Menorca Binibeca

The delay led to the blog is such that I can not even say "last year ...". So I will say that during the summer of 2009, I went with my girlfriend, my sister and my brother to Menorca, to do a little snorkeling and sightseeing. We

morning Mahon airport, famous for being the origin of mayonnaise (mayonnaise in many places), much as it hurts the French. As our guide (my girlfriend) told us that the city had much to do, picked up the rental car and down the people of Binibèquer (Binibeca in Castilian). It was about 9 o'clock in the morning and the town was still asleep.

Binibèquer is a traditional fishing village, but with little commercial activity.

There really is not much to say of the people, unless it is precious. Its white walls (I guess to reduce the heat) reflected a blue light during that summer morning.

Although the old town is small, its streets were a maze that spoke of times where cars did not exist and spaces distributed people as he could. Sometimes you saw a door on the first floor and you wonder where it came from the bridge leading to it. At other times it was easier.

The green windows, about 15 centimeters high, were curious. Perhaps they were so to protect themselves from storms, or because access to firewood was difficult, or to prevent the heat entering in summer.

Some houses had been redesigned and have larger windows and open spaces.

also spoke architecture of times in which measure 1.70 was very high.

The Harbor Village:

some houses were impressive:

After
Binibèquer walk and some breakfast, we went to Cala n'Porter, which had many northern European tourists, mostly families, and where did some snorkeling. The water was warm, the only downside was that there were perhaps too many people and few fish. The color change in water (More turquoise in) advised that where the water temperature down a lot.

After settling into a kind of exterior house and garden, in a hotel with pool on the island, we go a little Ciutadella. My camera and I could not make acceptable photos at night, so you have to put a little imagination.

Citadel was founded by the Carthaginians and has since been passed from hand. It was ruled by the Moors, then was recaptured by the Crown of Aragon, later became an important port in the Middle Ages, but then the Turks besieged for days and sold all its inhabitants in the slave market of Istanbul. Today is no longer the capital of the island, but Mahon is one of the two cities.

Like the other Balearic Islands, is spoken mallorquí (a variant of Catalan), Castilian, and English and German. Many homes on the islands were bought by the latter, which are the main source of tourism. To fly from Barcelona to Berlin, for example, it is best to stop over in Mallorca, as there are many more cheap flights from there that from this city. Comparing

islands, Menorca say that Mallorca is more expensive, and I think less expensive than Ibiza. As Ibiza is Ibiza, and Mallorca is cheaper Menorca is still a little more exclusive, they say.

In any case, try to upload soon photos of Minorca, an island that I love to spend entire summers, and then move to other places that I have accumulated: Argentina, Madrid, Croatia, Istanbul, not to have to say "4 years ago ...".
